Bethany is seeking new members for its team!

Bethany offers a place of rest, encouragement and restoration for Christian workers and their families serving in Hong Kong and beyond. We are committed to the approach of “Soul Care” of Christians from all church backgrounds and take a special emphasis serving cross-cultural workers. Please join us in our ministry! 

Belonging to the Bethany team offers a wonderful opportunity to engage in mission by encouraging Christ followers in their work and/or ministries in challenging areas. If you have a heart for hospitality, a coachable spirit, and commitment to servant leadership–you are qualified to serve! 

The listings below are broad areas of need which volunteers don’t need to fit exactly. We simply want a willing heart to serve together as a team–so enquire if any of the areas below peak your interest.

Short-term Volunteer tasks –

• Area 1: Facilities Maintenance

– Routine Maintenance: Supervising and performing maintenance tasks for facility systems (aircons, electrical, plumbing). 

– Emergency Repairs: Handling urgent maintenance issues to prevent operational disruptions.

– Technical Support and Training: Providing guidance and training to maintenance staff on various technical issues.

– Gardening and Landscaping: Overseeing and participating in the maintenance of gardens and landscaped areas, including planting, weeding, pruning, and irrigation management/watering.  

• Area 2: Guest Services and Reservations

– Handling Reservations: This can be done remotely or at Bethany’s location. Managing all aspects of bookings, cancellations, and modifications, ensuring high accuracy in reservation systems across various channels.

– Guest Reception and Service: Welcoming guests at the front desk, providing exceptional customer service, addressing all enquiries, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their stay

Longer Term volunteer roles –

1. Reservations and Reception Lead

oversees, as above, all aspects in Areas 2.

2. Facilities Management

This post oversees and is involved in personally in all aspects of Areas 1 listed above with a requirement to roll up sleeves and get hands dirty along with compliance and oversight duties.

3. Pastoral Care

Praying, encouraging, and fellowshipping with guests. Pastors, professional coaches, and counsellors are highly desirable, but not required. 

Each role will support and offer, in their own ways, the general Soul Care of our guests. We hope these positions interest you, but most importantly that you feel a calling to Bethany! We aim  select new team members by October 2024 and have them start serving soon after.
